High-Performance Coil Included

Your Compass Ignition comes with a 12-Volt Dual Lead Coil, complete with leads and caps. This high-output coil doubles the spark voltage compared to the original twin-coil system, yet fits neatly in the stock mounting location.

Advanced Control Unit – Built for Durability

Designed and manufactured in Adelaide, Australia, the compact control box is easy to tuck away under the fuel tank. It’s fully sealed to resist vibration and moisture and features a high-speed processor for flawless timing control—no delays, no jitter.

Extreme Protection Against Electrical Faults

Reverse polarity protection—prevents damage if wires are crossed
Spike protection—shields against high-voltage surges
Continuous over-voltage protection—keeps your system safe

Heavy-Duty Pickup Unit

The pickup unit replaces the original points plate and is built to withstand the engine’s extreme conditions. Featuring:

300°C-rated magnets
200°C-rated winding wire
CNC-machined aluminum frame & backing plate
Silicone-insulated lead wires for durability

With no active components inside and a flexible sealant for thermal cushioning, it’s engineered for long life and reliability.

Compatibility & Re-Phased Engines

This system is designed for stock XS650s with a 360° crank, but we also offer a Compass Ignition for rephased 277° crankshafts.
